Lezgian also called Lezgi or Lezgin, is a language that belongs to the Lezgic languages. It is spoken by the Lezgins, who live in southern Dagestan and northern Azerbaijan. Lezgian is a literary language and an official language of Dagestan. It is a Caucasian language of the Nakh-Daghestanian language family ( Archi, Tabassaran, Agul, Rutul, Tsakhur, Budukh, Kryz, Khinalug, and Udi ) spoken in Azerbaijan and Daghestan. More specifically, it falls under Eastern Samur group of Lezgic languages (Lezgi, Agul, Tabassaran)

Key spoken dialects: Küre and Axty in Daghestan; and Qusar (Quba) and Ismayilli in Azerbaijan. Standard Lezgi which is the standard dialect is based on the Küre dialect.
