Tok Pisin is a variety of Melanesian Pidgin English (creolized) spoken in Papua New Guinea (PNG). Tok Pisin is one of the three official languages, together with Hiri Motu, “a pidginized form of the Austronesian language Motu” (spoken only in the Southern Region of the country) and English.

Dialects vary as per different regions. Other major regional languages in Papua New Guinea (PNG) are Enga; Tolai (Kuanua); Melpa; Kuma; Huli .
